Blend of Merlot with 5% Carmenere and 5% Petit Verdot. Deep Ruby with aromas of red berry fruits, floral and spice notes. On the palate flavors of ripe cherry and raspberry with dried flower and baking spice. Fine tannins on medium finish ending with a fruit character, good to drink now!

Jun 25th, 20222015 vintage. Owned by the Vauthier family (Ausone, Moulin Saint Georges and La Clotte). A blend of 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and interestingly 5% Carnenere and 5% Petit Verdot. Seriously reduced, I wildly double-decanted the wine, and struggled with the nose for over an hour before it finally started to shine. My patience was rewarded as the beast miraculously turned into some kind of a beauty. Ripe red fruit, violets and a mineral touch.

Violet aromas and Blue and Blackberry fruit flavors. Large amount of mineral and reasonably smooth tannins. Hints of leather and tobacco.

Tannins from two years ago have melted away. The wine is now rounded out with powerful violets on the nose and palate. Chewy purple fruit with hints of leather. Wet stone noted in prior tastings has receded. It will be interesting to see over the next few years whether this is the peak or not.
