Château Dassault
St. Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend
Gosh, this was good. This wine embodied everything so wonderful about old Bordeaux, that balance of power, concentration, grace, elegance and, most notably here, freshness. This had spice, dried meats and macerated cherries alongside the tertiary notes of forest floor and cedar wood. Impeccably balanced on the palate, it improved throughout the two hours I spent drinking it and is another wonderful example of the 1989 vintage.

Dec 18th, 2023This is a full on wine that has plenty of leather, cherry and raspberry notes. Long and generous finish. Hedonistic.

Nov 4th, 2019Bright. Lively. It feels elegant in the palate, no blunt or sharp edges here. Summer fruit, mocha. Long finish. Classy.

Apr 7th, 2016'05 vintage, elegant, not showing its age, mostly primary fruit, plums, cassis, very subtle, well integrated oak spice. Dare I say not very typical St. Emilion as the Cabernets shows too prominently.
