Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend

All the classic and delightful cedar and pepper notes on the nose, the palate still has a hint of fruit but mostly gone. Not so bad.

Drinking now. Really nice.

Classic 83 Margaux- Cedar nose with soft elegant tannins, joyous fruit and ballerina style. Long finish, with at least a decade or more left.

Thanks for joining me for steak & claret @Gregory Condes! This bottle was on the lean side, but I prefer them thinner rather than fatter. The aromatics were fully developed, generous and pure Margaux; earthy, cassis like perfume! Best of all it cut the ribeyes like a razor!

At this point, more educational than hedonistic. But hey, education is important, right?

From Friday night steak and claret with Cinnamon and Julia from Champagne Cazanove. I was to overwhelmed by the charm of my dining companions to remember to take a picture. I bought this now 13 year old pre-arrival, and although aromatically generous, this wine is still far to young for its outstanding potential. The high class cassis perfume was followed by an overly taught feel in the mouth. It still cut refreshed after each bite of prime top sirloin!

Softer than expected with hints of violets.

All the Margaux's are big wines with big extraction. A number of them with heavier new oak use than usual.
