Brief chewy tannins. Opened up quickly. Easy and light, very young. Drank beautifully, wildflowers and dense ripe cold fruits.

Feb 14th, 2017Tasted at the vineyard. Dark red. Tried it along side the 2012, which was much less smooth. They had a nice dog and lawn mowing robots.

Drunk in 5 liters, opened 5 hours before tasting. Still very young and shows great potential.

Sings softly. Wisp of hyacinth, cherries, mulberries, ripe plum, a gently spiced finish. Summer is thunderstorm season in sub-Saharan Africa & waiting for the clouds to pass is like waiting for this wine to open fully and deliver a stirring solo. A well-crafted wine from a bio/organic 400-year-old Saint-Émilion château, but ultimately no crescendo arises...possibly because '07 was a challenging vintage. No grand aria, but it does pleasantly sing in the background under the cover of these persistent clouds.
