Saturday night and we have opened the 2016 Goulée by Cos d'Estournel. The blend on this wine is 77% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot.

On the nose are beautiful dark fruits, black cherry, blackberry, stewed plum, black currant, baking spices, vanilla, graphite and dark earth.

On the palate I am noting the dark fruit of black cherry, blackberry, black currant, green bell pepper, bitter dark chocolate, graphite, a touch of oak and earthy minerality.

This wine is rich and full bodied and well balanced with medium + acidity that flows into an in your face medium + grippy tannins. I wish everyone a continued prosperous weekend, but please be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

33% cab, 60%, cab franc 7%. Fine tannins, though present on the finish. Not particularly concentrated. But fresh and enjoyable. Red fruits on the feminine nose.

Deep rich color. Bouquet is rich with ripe fruit and earth notes. Surprisingly light flavor. Fruit forward with light earth notes at the finish. Smooth.

Really delicious with medium weight, red and black fruits, and silky tannins. Drinking beautifully at this point.

G d’Estournel - this is really delicious and drinking well now but tannins are definitely present.
