Pierre Lurton dropped by the shop today with this bottle (among others - lucky me)! Fresh and vivacious. 53% Cab Franc & 47% Merlot. Cool green Franc character really shines without occupying the field. Fine, elegant tannins lend beautiful bone structure. I'm sure this will age forever, but I thought it was drinking spectacularly well today.

Tha k you Mr. Lurton for coming by and pouring us four vintages of Cheval Blanc! This was in a great spot with the most olive intrigue, new leather and cool blue fruit. Where is my steak?

Warm nose with green bell pepper. Fruits are ripe. Black berries, black plum, black licorice, purple florals, herbs and green bell pepper is also on the palate.

No formal notes . Medium deep ruby again. This is a bit greener , spicier , with some red pepper , smokier and darker fruit on the nose . Spicier and a bit more plush on the palate . This actually improved a lot in the glass and was changing quite a lot , became more floral with crunchy fresh dark berries . Polished tannin but nice fresh acidity , quite velvety on the palate . No lack of weight either . Really quite liked this and will no doubt age gracefully even if it is enjoyable today with time in decanter. For enjoyment over the next 10 years or so.
