Soft roses and dried cherry with delicate hints of oranges. Very supple, gorgeous and open. All secondary stuff and delicate and long. Gorgeous.

Better than the ‘47, but with bottle variation who’s to really know?

Incredible. You don't know what to expect with old wines but this 1950 Cheval Blanc had a surprisingly dark color and had a port like mouthfeel. Some VA notes but otherwise a balanced glass of wine that could frankly age longer. Great experience!

Off the charts. Super layered and complex. Outstanding combination of aromas, flavors on the palate and overall balance. What a treat...

Reddish ruby with a little brown. Almost opaque. Pure nose of black cherry, mint, herbs, cola. Incredibly rich and round in the mouth. Long finish. Guessed old Heitz Martha's Vineyard. I think that's a complement to both. Opened 5 hrs in advance and then drunk over 4 more hours, this became more refined with time. Kind of angular versus the more opulent 45 Mouton. Parker's favorite wine the legendary 47 Cheval Blanc. What a treat to compare the two side by side. I think the 45 Mouton wins at the wire tho.

Our last bottle just sold & I'm so grateful I had a taste! Still showing beautifully! Fruit still fresh, beeswax, had to gas off a bit, but wonderful.

honeyed balsamic nose, still black raspberry. Earthy menthol, muted fruit.
