The 2007 Cantemerle is still a bit hard at 10 years old, and is more about iron than perfume at this point. We decanted an hour ahead and served the wine with Marin Sun Farm ribeye, and is was a success, but not the magnificent Margaux like surprise the 2006 was.

Slightly bricked garnet red, compact rim, more red than purple.
Pretty bouquet - red cherry, dried herbal aromas, leather, tobacco, mineral.
The palate is harmonious. Integrated tannin, med plus acidity, dry, medium bodied. Showing a lot of red fruit character, animalistic, floral. Very classic Margaux-esque character.
This wine is at the perfect drinking spot. No need at all to wait. After a solid month of full bodied, extracted Napa Cab, this is a welcome reprieve! 90.

Ripe cassis and black berry with bitter chocolate and hints of green pepper. The palette here is nicely balanced between plump cassis, stones, and spice. Well made with excellent integration. Excellent now, better in 8-10 years.
