Last night I opened the 2009 Château Cambon la Pelouse. Left Bank Bordeaux from Macau in the Haut-Medoc. A blend of 54% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot.

On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black currant, tobacco, licorice, cedar, charcoal anddark earth.

On the palate is black cherry, blackberry, black currant, green bell pepper, cedar, licorice and pencil shavings.

This wine is full bodied with a silky smooth mouthfeel medium acidity and medium fine tannins that leaves you with a medium to medium + long fleshy dark fruit earthy finish. Please have a wonderful weekend and stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Complex, complete and in a good place. This could take more time in bottle if desired.

Drank 6/1/17 with a Ribeye Steak. Excellent pairing.

Nose of black currant, cherry, and a hint of green bell pepper. Palate of black currant, licorice, and cocoa powder. Medium body with silky, well integrated tannins. Medium to long finish.

The 2016 Cambon La Pelouse is a wine of real depth, power and flavor. Super-ripe dark cherry, plum, leather, tobacco, cedar and earthy notes are all laced together in this punchy, expressive Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois. Once again, Cambon Le Pelouse over delivers. It should drink well for the next decade-plus. Tasted two times. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2019)

The 2012 Cambon La Pelouse is absolutely gorgeous. Far from an easygoing 2012, the Cambon La Pelouse is going to need at least a year or two in bottle to unwind and shed some of its nervous energy. Savory herbs, tobacco, menthol, spices and dark-fleshed fruit fill out the super-classic Haut-Médoc profile. This is a terrific wine for the vintage. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous)

Herbal, decent structure, clearly a solid 16 year Bordeaux. Never really opened up though, lighter than expected.
