2016 vintage. 45 hectares of vines on one of the highest plots in Moulis with very gravely soils. Blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. The website says predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, the back label states more Merlot. Whatever it is, there seems to be more than a drop of Merlot in here. Hesitating between red and black fruits in the nose, with an attractive mineral hint. Smooth and balanced, easy-drinking with good length. Nice value at 14 euros. Abv. 14%.

Another screaming good Bdx value, I think I paid €10. Dark fruited and firm, with some bitter chocolate, pencil lead and leather on the midpalate. Finishes with gravel and herbs. Drinking pretty well, but its rigid spine suggests further improvement is to come. Classic left bank.

2004 of this was a fun exploration of older, lesser known Bordeaux; dark fruit, dark earth & mint! Also fun to enjoy in Bordeaux with roasted chicken!

Pyrazine, lush red and blue fruits, garnet, hazy, round and well structured. Medium plus acidity, elevated tannin, medium minus body.

Insanely deep and balanced, especially for $10 on markdown at Costco. Cherry, cooked plum, blackberry, cinders, minerals, floral, heavy tannin and the same time smooth on the palate. Loving this.

Plenty of blackberry and blackcurrant... a summer pudding in Bordeaux form. Tasty.
