With 20 minute decant the nose was opulent leading a rich and layered palate of concentrated dark red fruit, pipe tobacco. Tiny bit clipped on an otherwise focussed sweet oak finish. Nice!

Very young and hard at first, but several hours softens it and reveals the potential. I'll revisit this in another 10 years.

2005 vintage. Orange peel, watercress, dill and some meatiness in the nose. Light-medium body. A dead ringer for a comparably-aged Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars Fay or SLV cab. Def on the feminine side and a little tobacco and cinnamon on a lengthy finish. Top of its’ particular bell curve and has another 3-4 years at this station/junction. Lacks the stuffing to go farther but a very respectable showing nonetheless. Zero speed bumps and well integrated.

Not particularly complex - very straight forward. Would never have picked this out as a Margaux. Leather, red fruit and some age. Medium short finish.

Lovely tobacco and chocolate and dried cherries on the nose. Youthful tannins and nice fruit on the plate. An elegant medium/long finish.

Very nice with cedar, tar, herbs and some berries all around. Enjoyed with a simple beef stew.
