2005 vintage. Decanted and open for 3.5 hours before tasting. Intense and spicy richness in the frontal palate/gums. Harmonious the rest of the journey. Very very close to opening the door to the hall of mirrors and entering the "zone" of optimal drinking. Still pretty youthful and no rush to crush. At least two decades of gorgeous enjoyment ahead. Even the greatest wines change themselves in the looking glass. 5.17.23.

Wow in the glass before tasting with notes of dark chocolate inviting the first taste. Still young but extremely capable with chocolate and cedar notes to balance the firm tannic structure one expects from an angelus! As great as the wine is now, there are many years to be had with this vintage.

Too much extraction and resine aromas, taste like a global warming merlot from a region where they used to produce thin wines with tanins and body. Obviously this château is now producing jam wines with sweet tanins. Even if the finish is very long and the wine has a great density, it looks much more like a zinfandel from napa
