Jun 8th, 2015Granade in the bottle. Full of ripe and fresh red frutis: cherries, black currant. Body ballanced with acidity, harsh tannins, very drinkable. Full bodied. Decent CS!

Pilfered a bottle from the supply closet to go with my spicy veggie kofta balls. Thought it was a cheapy because of the screw top but MAN it's delicious! Doesn't quite hold up to the curry, but it's gliding across my tongue like warm silk. I would enjoy this bottle before dinner with light conversation and an amuse bouche.

"Right Now" as one of two "Human Beings" tasting this wine in this halen, sorry I mean haven... wait house, this cab sauv "Feels so Good" and I suspect it will give me pleasant "Dreams". Then I realise the "Dream is Over" and wonder "Why Can't This be Love"? Frankly, for a self taught wine maker, who looks suspiciously like Sammy Hagar (http://www.charlessmithwines.com/about-charles-smith.php), this is good wine. You can tell these vines are young but there's some artistry here... A good comparison is Prince Edward County wines... Young but with potential... This is pricey but not over priced unlike PEC. Here's the thing, will this castle turn into Van Hagar or Van Halen?
