Pop and pour. The density this has shown has just increased in the last few years. On the nose: spicy red fruit, a hint of savory licorice, lovely intensity. On the palate: lovely acidity and density. Fills the mouth with lovely red fruit, earthy spice and a touch of herbs. Attenuated tannin on the finish. Yum.

This bottle has definitely come into its own. For context, this held its own next to a very nice Gevrey-Chambertin 1er. Definitely OR, but loads of old world character. On the nose: urfa biber (earthy and soft heat), brambly red fruit. Starting to show soft signs of secondary with a hint of funky leather and a soft touch of stems. On the palate: fantastic acidity, soft stems, so juicy and great density. Very soft, attenuated tannin on finish. No rush to drink, as this has shown it has the stuffing to age gracefully, but thus is starting to leave the primary phase. Very elegant right now.

If you drank this a few years ago and were underwhelmed, then your bottle was likely damaged or too young. This is a gorgeous bottle of PN that is now entering maturity. I've seen a number of comments on this wine. Afaik, Louis-Michel Liger-Belair was the consulting winemaker on this wine made by Mikey Etzel. Anyway, it's glorious.

Very nice balance of fruit and astringent tannin, fresh and short pleasant linger. L
