Perfect wine. What else can I say?! Cyril Chappellet was with us and he said it was the best 750 he’s had in the last decade. If you’re one of the lucky few to own this wine, take my advice and cellar it for another decade or two. Reminds me of 61 Latour.

The unicorn! Dom & Amy Chappellet we’re kind enough to pull this from their cellar! I’ve had the fortune of tasting this wine three times in the past 5 years. All were mind-blowing. This and the ‘58 Inglenook are the best expressions of Cab I’ve ever experienced. Anywhere. Sorry, Bordeaux! 49 years old and still so youthful. The purity of fruit is striking. Exotic tertiary aromatics of cedar, interplay with fresh vibrant rose oil and red currant aromas. Unbelievably tight structure, yet silky with a great balance of weight and length. You would think it’s 7 - 10 years old. It boggles the mind to wonder how much more life it has. Only 400 cases made and few remaining in the world. An amazing gift from Dom & Amy!!
