Wow! 2010 Pinot totally shining. Wonderful balance. Red fruit and nice acidity to complement. Delicious. Chalone really leads in CA Pinot.

A really solid, old school, Cali Pinot value that is certainly enjoyable, but I'm spoiled on Rivers-Marie. This just lacks the oomph factor by comparison.

May 30th, 2015Deep ruby with clear pink rim. Medium nose of cherry, raspberry, anise, tobacco, sage, toasted coconut and oak. Medium body and acidity brings cherry, black pepper and oak. Soft tannins lead to an oak/earth and red fruit medium finish. Balance shifted to the nose but good structure for a fairly valued $18.74 USD chicken or salmon friend.
