Deep purple in color with a short purple/ reddish rim. Not showing its age.
On the nose black currants, black plums, cherries, light oak, licorice, barnyard, bitter herbs, spices, dark coffee, earth and black pepper.
Full bodied with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with cherries, blueberries, raspberries, light wood, earth, river rocks, coffee, tobacco leaf, bitter vegetables, spices, light herbs and peppercorn.
Medium finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a nice Italian red from Italy. Rich and extracted with a nice mouthfeel.
Good right out of the bottle, and better with airtime. Tannins show up after an hour.
This 5 year old is still young, and needs another 5 years in the bottle to mature properly.
A good food wine that I paired with cheeses and olives. Paired nicely with French Camembert.
100% Lagrein grapes were aged for 12 months in neutral oak barrels. Certified Organic.

Fruit becoming more prominent. Actually preferred it before but still gorgeous. Fruit coming through. Roasted red pepper. Green and vegetal. Slight dark fruit hidden within. Evolving, but the more tannic, earth centric days seem behind it.

Dec 31st, 2016Bold dark purple and serious legs. On the palate its a mouthful. Big body, massive tannins that would put tannat to shame, earth, rustic old world dryness. Giving my wine palate some exercise with this one, but really incredible and unique.

Super luscious aroma, plum, smoke, char, chocolate. Taste it smokey but not spicy, burnt raisins and cherry. Little acid, and little tannin. The tannins actually emerge a bit letting the wine sit out, which in this case, is good.

В аромате никакого парфюма, все серьезно, строгая сложная и несладкая фруктовость с оттенками мяса, пряностей и дуба ( выдержка 12 месяцев в старых барриках) . Во рту: весьма высокая кислотность, округлое, сочное, во вкусе те де пряно-мясные нотки. Такой лагрейн нам нужен))

Oct 13th, 2014Lagrein 2009, su terreno fertile che si esprime meglio nelle annate calde. Naso di spezie e prugna ed amarena. Bocca sapida, amara ricca e piccante. Persistente anche se molto giovane. Campione in bocca in prospettiva.
