A special example of the delicacy that can be achieved on the Sonoma Coast when a solid picking choice is made. In the same breath, it is also an example for me of the constraints of the region. While broad and sprawling, there are really few sites suited for intriguing growing conditions for Pinot Noir, and even when done at the highest level, you can usually find higher quality at a lower price point from many known Pinot growing regions around the world. This is a qualitative peak for the AVA, and certainly worth considering.
