Confession: it’s hard for me to take something so fun seriously. Beautiful floral bouquet (dried),seaside breezes, fruit popping off the brambles. The carbonic making it a little too glou glou for me.

Previous notes apply. This is elite stuff. Needs a bit of air for the fruit to creep out from the bramble and earth. I hope I have more of these stashed away somewhere

This is a beautiful Pinot. Burgundy lover should love. I don’t mean to say it’s burgundy... it is what it is! But minerality and acidity will please and not scare burgundy lovers! 2018 was probably something I should have put to sleep 10 years, but it was still totally alive and not shut down. Can’t wait to discover more about Ceritas.

This was really something. From vines planted by Steve Kistler 30 years ago in northern Sonoma coast and near some other heavy hitting sites. Manages the neat trick of intensity without heaviness. Redolent of small berries and ocean breeze, bursting with black cherry, strawberry and rhubarb, dried flowers and spice with a whole cluster herbal quality. Was a little afraid I’d jumped the gun but nah this is ready

These made for a fantastic pair; both, I think from Steve Kistler’s vineyard. The Ceritas was my favourite with lovely freshness, purity and vibrancy. The SWK was also cool, albeit in a deeper, darker and denser guise - 2017

A bit acid forward at this stage but there’s nice red fruit herbaceous notes on the finish. Needs a bit of cellar time.

Really well done Pinot that gained complexity as it opened.
