Barbaresco ain't really my deal. Try as I might I can't really get in to Nebbiolo-based reds (tragically, given the Northern Italian in my heritage). Barolo and Barbaresco just leave me cold.
That said, I do recognize a nice example. That's what we have here. Concentration and power. And young at 13 years old. Something to be said for that.

Jul 17th, 2014Ripe red cherries, strawberries, toast and tar. Significant tannin after a quick decant and the acid is there so this has a ways to go.

Apr 1st, 2015Man, do I love Barbaresco!! This is so flipping good. Sweet licorice and rose petals and a soft leather/green tobacco note. The nose is really muted still despite the decanter. The finish however, is about 45 seconds
