Winery dates back to the 12th century, Scala Dei (Latin for "Ladder of God"). Since 2000, Grupo Codorniu has assumed management of Winery. Tried older vintages which to me were mediocre, the ‘11 is a step up! Aromas of rich berry fruit with a mineral character. On the palate ripe black cherry and currant flavors with black pepper notes. Fine tannins, good balance, lingering ending with fresh fruit with slight earthy tones. Nice value!

Very young vibrant and acid Priorat that needs a bit more time to relax as it was wild, kicking and even still lightly fermenting. Deep ruby red, full of red utters, cassis, cherries and touch of flowers, medium body, high acidity, medium short finish. Worth visiting in 2017, for the time being a score of 84 will do, drink to 2020
