Mas de Can Blau Cariñena Blend

Balanced for as big as this wine is. Medium plus tannin, medium minus acid balance this powerhouse out. Big fruit and some nice vegetal notes

2006 vintage. In its youth, the lofty oak treatment shaded the fruit, but not anymore. Integrated toasty oak intermingles with luxury leather, ripe yet fresh fruit (just entering its maturity phase), slatey minerality and hints of spice. Despite all of the above, it behaves sort of one dimensional.

Awesome powerful wine. Inky dark, smokey, spice, dark berries, candid violets. Monster tannin.

If you're unfamiliar with the term "beast-mode", you will likely find a picture of this bottle of wine next to its definition. This wine is a monster. 15% alcohol, and as deep and complex as you would expect. Juan Gil family have really nailed it with this one.

2004. Big, brawny, large and in charge.

Big and bold without being too much. Slight touch of alcoholic heat

There is something on the back end….its like bitter, but not bad

Tour de Force, absolutely black, so inky & dense, so brooding with layers upon layers of liqueur like black/blue fruit, just gobs of rich extracted macerated fruit w/distinct vein of minerality, licorice, mocha, smoke, hedonistic, light dusting of sweet baking spices, couldn’t pull our noses out of the glass, and the palate just reinforced everything… just massive, wave after wave of richness, a bit of heat from the hi ABV is my only minor deduction. Showed power & grace, masculine, structured w/lengthy caressing finish. This could go 20+ yrs, it’s just a baby.

Extremely Good, this has Muzuelo, Syrah, and Garnacha in it….never heard of the 1st 3rd of it….

Big inky wine. Balanced and well made but something was lacking for me with this one.
