Bionic Frog Walla Walla Valley Syrah
First time tasting the 2013. great texture, acid and way more fruit young than 2012 but green on the finish. The only parallel is Cote Rotie, silky, fresh, raspberry, bright. Good stuff, not my favorite vintage.

Apr 16th, 2017One of my favorites for sure! Reviewed a few other times this year so always fun to see how the Frog wine has changed over time. Color is undoubtedly crimson. Nose is savory and dark fruits dominate with the familiar, but subtle Cayuse funk with spices, smoky meat, mint and subtle vanilla toasted marshmallow on the end. Taste - soft, creamy and juicy and blackberries standout. Has notes of iron-minerals, rich soil and rocks, pepper, wet tea leaves and with smoky ham-bacon long finish. Yummy!!!

2 hour decant(cloudy sediment). An imposing dark crimson red color. On the nose: savory notes of smoked meat, little of the Cayuse funk(luv it), spice, campfire, floral, dark berries, black olives. Taste: smooth, creamy, rich, juicy, structured medium plus body wine with mouth coating cherry-raspberry, iron, tea, rich soil, pepper, smoke, and a minerally bacon grease long finish. YUM..what a start to the weekend!

Going down to the swamp with the Frog!! Took two lifetimes and 15 years to get a 3 btl allocation. 3 hour decant (min cloudy sediment). A celebrated dark red color. On the nose: BAM!.....smoked meat, mint, red fruit, green pepper, and some of that Cayuse funk (luv it). Taste: mouth coating raspberry, iron, smokey roasted ham, with a cherry/bacon long finish. A powerful and elegant Syrah at only 13.4% alcohol ready to go the distance!

An amazing elegant and powerful syrah at only 13.4% alcohol!!! On the nose: raspberry, floral, black olives, smoked meat, and that Cayuse funk. Taste: raspberry, iron, soil, chocolate cherries, with a smokey bacon long finish.
