Surprised by this. At a stage where the oak is starting to integrate, fruit is dropping, and texturally the wine is drinking great. Noticeable tannins that are softening out. Alc. poked out a bit resulting from an above ideal serving temp. Driven by warm and savory spices, sweet tobacco, iron, and the black fruits are drying out. Not always a fan of this wine upon release but have had some examples with age that have been good. Curious how it will be at the 20 year mark.

Another 2003 Napa Cabernet that is drinking gorgeously with proper aging. Velvety with mellowed tannins. Beautiful nose of cassis, cedar, and blackberries. A good pairing with frozen pizza? Why yes!
