Birth year wine. Hoisin, dried mushrooms, licorice, bayleaf, rotting leaves, walnut skin, prunes, dried fig, wet leather, dried dill, iron. Definitely past its peak and not as complex as some older Napa Cabs. Not fruit forward at all. Tannins have resolved and finish lingers for a bit. Love that this is still holding on to some acid. The American oak still sticks its nose out , reminds me of old Rioja but with more structure and concentration for the age.

Jan 15th, 2024We had the 2014 Vintage on 12/16-17/23. Dark, inky purple. Blackberry, boysenberry and graphite on the palate and bouquet. There was a mustiness on the first night. Not bad, just not great.
