A nice red blend from the house of Caymus.
Easy drinking and fruit forward. Simple and good by itself.
Showing black fruits with oak, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco, light herbs and peppercorn.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity, and a little hot at the back of the throat.
I expected it to be much sweeter, but it's nicely balanced and fruit forward.
14.2% alcohol by volume.
88 points.

May 23rd, 2024I drank the red blend not the cab, but the red blend isn't on here yet. Very smooth, juicy wine with a very slight bite at the end. Well rounded flavor and not complex.

Mar 12th, 2021In the same family as the 1858 Cabernet, this red blend is a true delight. Smooth almost as if you were drinking plain juice. For $20, it’s a steal.
