Cave Vinicole de Kientzheim-Kaysersberg
Anne de K Schlossberg Grand Cru Riesling
High rating but lacking in energy, acidity. I really wonder if Total Wines suffer a similar fate due to storage issues

Apr 8th, 2018Last night was the Confrerie St. Etienne Spring dinner. It was my first time attending. This is a chapter of the original group out of Alsace, France, and is the only chapter here in the US...just happens to be in my neck of the woods! Great introduction to Alsace wines.
Kind of surprised at the reviews here for this wine. Maybe people rated the wrong one? This grand cru Riesling was paired with a Chilean sea bass and both were excellent. Not a lot of petrol on the nose, but it checked off most Riesling notes of honeycomb, pear and had that lovely sweet and quick finish on the palate.

A clean style, with fresh juicy lime and stone fruit, and just a bit of cheese rind with its wet stone. Dry and high acid

Jan 31st, 2016Pale yellow and still has a petrol, dill, and honeysuckle aromas. Slightly salty and buttery. Rich and velvety, but low in acidity.

Jan 16th, 2021It’s best served chill so that it gives you a very light crisp taste and floral scent. Pears with a hint of citrus! I enjoyed it while cooking chicken piccata. It paired well with dinner and would go great with Thai or even just as a desert with berries and Romanoff sauce! It was very soft and it could be a bit more robust, but t’was enjoyable ✨

Vibrant, fresh, citric, mandarin, peach, dry, long finished. Delightful pairing with Tarte Flambee, love it!

Jan 28th, 2020Straw hue. Nose of white flowers and orchard fruit. Fresh pear, apple, peach, and cantaloupe, honeysuckle, white lilies, honey, and wet stone on the palate. Dry. Vintage 2017. ABV 13%. Works well with the spiciness and heat of the chili. Spent considerable time thinking about what best to pair with chili, from a wine perspective. Glad we chose this one, but second choice was to pair with a Southern Rhône, Grenache-based blend, which leads me to this question: what wine do you think best complements chili or a red-meat dish with Mexican spices? So curious as to what others have tried and liked. #riesling #alsace #alsacegrandcru #schlossberg #annekriesling
