On the nose, currants, blueberries, strawberries, plums, cherries, light oak, licorice, earth, minerals, metals, spices and black pepper.
Medium Plus in body, smooth and elegant with medium plus acidity.
Dry and Fruity on the palate with blackberries, currants, cherries, plums, eforestorrest floor, pencil lead, vanilla, licorice, herbs and peppercorn.
Long finish with very little tannins, tart cherries and spices.
A very nice and enjoyable 9 year old blend. My first Bulgarian wine, Actually. Smooth, elegant and very enjoyable by itself or with food. I paired it with hard cheeses.
A little hot at the back of the throat, but otherwise, Nicely balanced. The nose reminds me of a Cabernet /Merlot blend from Washington State.

Never met a Bulgarian red I really liked until this one. Maybe because it was a 2008, the tannins had mellowed into a smooth rich finish, definitely a bargain at Kaldi.
