I will go into my stores of choice and look through all the Castle Rock Pinot choices trying to find this Russian River Valley Reserve. The Castle Rock RRV Reserve is one of the first RRV Pinot's I found to really like. On the nose I get cherry, vanilla, strawberry, spice and loamy soil. The palate leads me to fruit of plum, cherry, hints of Bonilla, and oak. There is also a nice acidity, minerality with a smooth finish.

May 30th, 2014Nose: cardboard, mild chocolate-covered-raisin. But all very subtle and mild. Hm. A little orange. Some herb I can’t identify. Taste: a little smoke and sulphur, otherwise just light and anonymous. Maybe something’s wrong with it. 80.
