Established in 1480 AD, Castello di Gabbiano is situated in the heart of the famed region of Chianti Classico. A Blend of 60% Merlot & 40% Cab Sauv, aromas of ripe dark berry fruits with spice notes. On the palate cherry and raspberry flavors with oak, cacao and tobacco. Fine tannins, lingering, well balanced, ending with fruit and earthy spice. Nice.

May 10th, 2019A super Toscana which is a joint effort of an American and an Italian winemakers, a blend of 60% Merlot and 40% CS, balanced and pleasant. Nose is very expressive and tempting, maybe a bit of an over promise ;-) deep dark color, black current, red berries, sour cherries, sweet vanilla, cinnamon and light herbs, body is nedium with firm tannins and expressive acidity, finish is long tannic yer fruity and pleasant, my score 88, drink 2013-2019

May 10th, 2015v15. Very good! Soft tobacco and cut cedar nose. Fresh, juicy, black cherry and blackberry fruit. Soft, dry, firm, nicely astringent leather finish. Very good food wine. Enjoyed !!!

May 16th, 2020Wonderful nose, black cherry, cinnamon, cloves and vanilla. Well balanced, finish long and even. Not as complex as I'd expected from the nose, but quite enjoyable. 2009 vintage, I'd say drink now till 2017.
