This big complex DOCG red from the Portacomaro d'Asti area of Northern Italy will never be mistaken for anything but what it is a "Big Old World Red". It presents you with a deep ruby colour, aromas of black berries, mocha chocolate and dried apricot. Well worth the hour to open up it displays a pronounced chocolate mocha taste with a hint of vanilla making you feel as if you are in a small Italian village enjoying a light meat dish with friends. At 14% alcohol this enjoyable wine is not to be taken lightly.
