Incredible for 2012...caught off by color, quite light and see thru with med ruby. Dark cherry, dried, leather and green tobacco with black tea. Med plus tannins, med acid. Alcohol high. Some oak present here with cinnamon and baking spices...Drank over two nites in nyc hotel when kids crashed! Delightful wine. Wife bought for me, couldn’t be better! — 10 days ago
Hard to beat for $13 and very good but that being said I was a bit disappointed since I expected more from a gran selezione. Tastes more like a super Tuscan than a baby brunello.
But like I said it is still very good — 14 hours ago
This is fantastic. The nose is fascinating with a sort of minty, floral quality that is hard to describe. It's very lifted and sexy; and I might even say there's a tiny, tiny hint of VA. The palate is soft, lush and beautifully balanced. The fruit character is markedly darker than other Barbarescos I've had lately, but the tannins are completely integrated. This rocks now but I would love to try it a few years down the line.

Iodine, worn leather, brown sugar/caramel notes, cranberry, acid dominated, great wine for drinking now — 13 days ago
