Loved this. So aromatic of freshly picked tart cherry and wet soil. Fruity but with a terroir backbone. Medium plus tannin but enough acid to keep you gulping. Chewy raspberry candy and a bit of light wood. Some bitter chocolate and pepper. Really dug this. Better within the six hour mark then next day.

Tastes "classic" but with 22 months French Oak. I'd say Modern-Classic. No vegetal leafiness. Round but not extracted. Well made and surprisingly refreshing for the 14.5abv. 2012

Same purity and finesse as the Chianti Classico with more earth, spice, and leathery tobacco tones. Love that they can convey such weight out of the Sangioveto without covering the wine with new oak makeup. Superb.

Earthy, leathery, red licorice aromas initially. Deep spicy red fruits mid palate, nice tartness, big cherry cordial flavored later on with incense and cinnamon. Very enjoyable wine, goes really well with dark chocolate which accentuates the fruit.
