No formal notes. An ok Viognier from a reputable producer in an excellent district as in Beechworth in northern Victoria. Acceptable but doesn’t have the fruit intensity or palate weight of the better examples like Yalumba Virgilius.

Restrained stone fruit nose that is well rounded but not shouty, elegant viognier, firm peach with a touch of smoke to it. In the mouth that control continues, this is a wonderfully controlled & precise with a mineral, melon, pear and apple fruit, clean as a whistle and in no way fat, fresh mineral finish. Great.

Opened tasting buttery with distinct oiliness on top of ginger, spice and apricot. The butter blew off with time and the back palate settled into a rich fatness which balanced with the fruit and spice.
