Nearly tawny in the glass. Sarsaparilla, molasses, fig, cherry pit. Fully resolved. She’s down but not out. Surprising maturity given the age and vintage.

Well balanced with plenty of violets and red fruit on the nose and palate. Trademark tannin.

2008 so pretty and complex - black cherries, tobacco, flowers, forest floor, minerality - just outstanding!

Barolo. Sublime richness exquisitely balanced by tannin, framed by high acidity, and elevated by high-wire aromatics. Yes!

I actually quite enjoyed this wine — some similarities to the Rioja Alta Ardanza I had a few days ago. Low residual sugar, but also low tannin, pretty dry and with more secondary characteristics than I would expect for a wine this age. Still some mouth pucker, though.

Beautiful Nebbiolo colour, obv. Floral, berry, and cedar on the nose. Nice structure, well balanced - fruit on the palate with some spice. Nice tannins. Alcohol is a bit prominent maybe? Elegant wine. Can’t buy Barolos all the time so not able to rate on a Barolo basis but I def like this wine. Lots going on.

Racy violets and high toned red fruit. Definitely on the young side but decanted nicely. Arrivederci 2018.
