Reserva Casablanca Valley Pinot Noir

Not good at all, really surprised this had high ratings.

A bit extracted with a touch of brett. Still good though, especially for the price.

Oak, vanilla, strawberry, and fig. Smooth.

A touch heavy on oak and acid, but at $12.99 this is a steal: it is terroir driven, with tart red fruit, mushrooms, and dusty earth, no perceptible RS.

A lucky pick off the wine list. Really liked it. Some old-world-ish funk and earthiness. Ready to try it again be sure it wasn’t a fluke.

Plum and sweet blue fruit. Good value.

Incredibly earthy nose and very high on the alcohol when first opened. High acidity on the tongue, which balances out over time. Tart berries, cherries. Paired with food in general or a good cheese, the tone becomes less strident. Overall not a favorite.

Fresh cherries and strawberries, with a little black pepper. Just a little chalk minerality, nice medium acidity, soft tannins. Simple, but well balanced and good with food.
