Mater Matuta Lazio Rosso Syrah Blend

Lazio Rosso IGT 2011, 14%. Bottle tasted in November 2014.
Blend of Syrah and Petit Verdot, aged in wood.
Rich, round, warm and powerful yet elegant and smooth in the mouth. A masculine wine, in my opinion.

Absolutely love this stuff! Had it last time in Rome but this was the 2009 vintage instead of 2008 and it was as amazing as I remembered.

Great bottle we had in a little trattoria in Rome.

17/20 (92/100) Аромат спелых чёрных ягод, ванили и шоколада со множеством специй. Довольно тельное и кислотное с мягкими танинами. Вкус соответствует аромату. Очень хорошо!

Had it at Edge Streakhouse Miami

Though this is a true representative of Lazio region, it is just not to my liking.
Great color, very fruity on the nose, but fails to deliver on the tongue as its high acidity overpowers everything else.

Recommended by our waiter when our first choice wasn't available. Very good. Deep purple color. Had it with pasta, fish and steak. Worked with all!

Really liked the wine. Very bold

Just not crazy about this one Can't put my finger on it but I'm just not crazy about it.

Full bodied, fruity, though has a slight 'funk'.
