I've had Casavecchia a few other times and this one recalls Aglianico more than the others did. Black pepper and leather notes. Quite tannic now but very drinkable.

Apparently Casavecchia is an ancient, forgotten variety. Loaded spicy, lava/earthy action. Huge structure. Reminds me of great Aglianico

Old school rustic Italian, quite dark fruited, salty. Medium body. Very tannic on the back end, very structured wine. Substantial acid. Needs a couple hours of air to come together and show properly. Pair with 🍝 for a pretty pretty good time. // turns into something special on day 2

Bright fruit driven by volcanic udertones. Good structure with the classic Italian acidity. Nearly extinct, a true treat for any fan of obscure wine, a can't miss, if you see it - drink it!
