Cuvée Colchagua Carménère

Tonight's Friday night wine is the 2014 Casa Silva Carménère Cuvée Colchagua.

The nose has good red fruit of strawberry, red raspberry, sweet cherry, spice, green peppercorn, green bell pepper, herbaceous and minerality.

On the palate I am able to tell there is tart raspberry, tart plum, green bell pepper which it seems this wine maker seems to really love as well do I, vanilla, a bit of oak, herbaceousness, a minerality and a dusty soil note.

The wine is medium bodied with medium + acidity, medium soft tannin that leads to a medium + finish. A nice wine that can be enjoyed now or later. Have a great weekend and be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Electric purple color with spicy violets and sweet red fruit after being open for an hour. Palate is still spicy but has a ridiculous cherry fruit flavor. Metallic-tinged finish, weirdly enough.

Sweet and earthy

Nice. Subtle fruit. Reminds me of Cote de rhone up front. Probably better in a year or two.

Fruity, medium body. Very drinkable.

Fruity, blueberry, and grass on the nose. Fruit forward, approaching jammy, but not yet there. Tasty, medium body. Chocolate notes on the end.

Big red fruit. Needs to open a bit before the spice shows through a bit

Kevin & Jeannie's house. Great medium body, merlot style wine. Jammy/juicy feel with low tannins and round finish

Black currant and black cherry aromas with a nice nutmeg finish.
