Beauty in a bottle. Give it a nice decant and also don’t be scared of giving it just a tiny chill. It is quite plush with all the fruit, blackberries and red currants. It’s heavy but also silky. It gives good tannins.

La réputation de la Casa Ferreirinha (Sogrape) n'est plus à faire, c'est sans contredit une des plus belles maisons de production de vins secs du Portugal. Elle produit la célèbre Barca Velha. Ici nous sommes sur une cuvée plus terre à terre. La robe est rubis foncé avec des reflets mauves. Un nez sur les prunes, les fruits noirs et le bois. En bouche on ressent le chocolat, la cerise et le bois. C'est tout de même corsé, puissant avec des tanins et une acidité bizarre.

The mouthfeel is amazing. Odd how some wines are just so silky and lovely on the palate. Plenty of berries, some wood, a hint of vanilla bean, outstanding with Avec pork shoulder.
