Casa de Santar
Reserva Estate Bottled Dão Red Blend
Aged 9 months in French oak. Blend of Touriga Nacional 40%, Tinta Roriz(Tempranillo) 35%, and Alfrocheiro. This wine is high in tannins, medium in acids and is extremely well balanced. Very long finish that has the representation of red, blue and black fruits. Is an excellent choice for savory dishes.

Jul 4th, 2021The oak is quite prominent though not overbearing initially, and subsides gradually to commingle with ripe black fruits, clove, anise, dark chocolate, dried herbs, and slight hint of barnyard. Full body. Savory and lush palate but the fruits feels youthful than the nose suggested. Vivid acidity and still solid tannins. Will continue to get better in the next 5 years also.
This bottle serves a reminder that I need to drink more wines from Portugal, one of my favorite countries to visit.

Really impressive thru vintage but this bad boy was especially strutting it’s stuff showing plenty of polish & sophistication: soaring black & blue fruit, creamy vanilla, gentle spice & warmth, little cedar & tobacco - plush, finely grained tannins, med bodied, smooth & seamless. Hot diggitty this was nice!
