This has been a favorite wine for the last few years. Jumilla's hot, dry climate shines in monastrell and petit verdot. The nose is medium plus intensity with lots of sweet, dried black fruit, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, plum, vanilla and toast. Palate is mouthcoatng and full bodied with well-integrated alcohol and acidity, and grippy fine tannins. There's a kirsch liqueur aspect to this wine along with just a touch of menthol and eucalyptus that keeps the wine bright despite all the black fruit and some wet, clumpy earth. This is a steak wine, or spicy (not hot spicy) black bean vegetarian dish kind of wine. !Me encanta este vino!
