Santa Barbara vineyard - 2004 version.
Berries, tobacco on the front palate, and peppery aftertaste. Astringent to a good degree. Strong aroma but friendly to the palate.

California Syrah basking in its simplicity and humble character. Table wine material thankfully...not overpowering at all.

Raspberries and rustic toned down leather qualities. Not much to say here and that's a good thing I feel. Winemaker here is obviously staying humble to the origins. Wouldn't like this any other way.

These people seem to make such appropriate table wine, never trying to be anything it's not, just taking it nice and easy and keeping all the wine very pure at heart. I appreciate that. Too bad I wasn't eating anything at this point in the evening. Strawberries, raisins, ripeness on point, and mellow all the way around.
