inky black color; dark chocolate, plum; blackberry cobbler, spice, great concentration and length; full bodied and tannic but velvety texture, medium+ acid, 14.7% ABV; blended with 8% Syrah, sourced primarily from Rossi Ranch in Sonoma Valley (89%) with some fruit from Rosella’s Vineyard in Santa Lucia Highlands (11%); should have good aging potential; $34

Basic appellation offering, Concentrated, Deep Purple Fruit with stained teeth & glass! Also, no 2017 smoke taint. Kudos Mike Officer. Cheers 🍇🍷

Sweet baked blackberry/blueberry pie on nose. Gobs of fruit, tannic as hell. Should have waited 5 years

Slow ox’d this for 9 hours (I.e., I opened it at 6:30am and pried myself away) then decanted for 30m. Massive and inky, in a way that could stain Teflon. Black currant, fruit cake, grass, jalapeño. Fleshy and round with velvety tannins. Very primary, as expected. There is a ton of complexity all wound up on the back end. Wish I could try again in a decade.

Wow. A powerhouse with finesse. A nose of freshly picked blackberries and chocolate pie. Glides along the palate effortlessly revealing blackberry, chocolate ganache, and pepper flavors. Lush and full-bodied. Super silky tannins with a long, loamy finish. Really impressive effort. I love this winery and this is a perfect example why.

2014 - purple/black. Deep black fruit spice, cereal? and heat on nose. Sappy, Blueberry jam, vanilla. Some dark chocolate. Not very complex but juicy and solid

Baking spices, candied black fruit on the nose. Jam packed with fruit and not as tight as I would have thought. Gobs of blueberry and blackberry, brown sugar and a touch of herbs, cardamom and vanilla. Delicious but my knock would be that it is a little one dimensional and I would like a little more acidity.
