Really wanted this wine to be so much more. Muted and quite. Even after a good decant the wine did not come out. Good but just feel like it should be so much better.

An inky purple, the '07 Carlisle Syrah 'Rosella's Vineyard' exhibits a gorgeous nose of black cherry, blackberry, graphite, white pepper and spice. The flavor profile mimics the scents with the additions of bacon fat and tangy mineral notes. The extremely persistent finish has an intriguing sweet spiciness that is utterly beguiling. Carlisle never disappoints!

Mike Officer doesnt make a syrah that is less than superb. This one is still on the very young end of it's life. Wait 5 more years.

Dark, dense and brooding Syrah that I opened too soon. Went well with grilled rib eye. With air some brighter citrus, spice and olive notes emerged.

Long finish. Bottled unfiltered and unfined. 14.2% alcohol

This was a beauty and perfectly stored throughout its life. Big rich wine, loads of black fruit and black pepper. Beautiful from the first pour to the last. 190 cases produced.
