Welcome to the long weekend and I will start this holiday weekend with a 2010 Caprili Brunello di Montalcino. Upon opening the aromas definitely tell me to let it breath for a bit.
After about 30 minutes this wine seems to have settled down a bit. The nose I am getting is of plum, fig, tomato, leather, thyme and definite licorice.
The very first sip the palate explodes with sweet red cherry, pomegranate, leather, roasted pepper, dried roses, crushed rock and a nice earthy component.
The wine has a good complexity with a nice length and a overall full mouth feel. There are fine grippy high tannins and high acidity which fill out the picture.
Overall very nice for this BdM! Enjoy this Holiday weekend and be safe. Nostrovia! đ·đ·đ·

Sep 3rd, 2016Took 3 hours to open up. Upfront there is cedar, sweet tobacco. Then comes the jams. Just like the nose, strawberry jam and black currants.
