The 2022 Vino Rosso Munaloss is bright, focused and sculpted. Sweet red fruit, sage, mint and blood orange abound in this super-expressive wine. Exuberant yet classically built, the 2022 has fine energy and tons of class. This is a fabulous entry-level offering. $20.00 (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, March 2024)

The 2019 Vino Rosso Munaloss is beautifully perfumed, light on its feet and gracious. Nervy and aromatic, with plenty of bright red/purplish fruit, the 2019 is a bundle of energy. It's a terrific entry-level bottling from Cantine Garrone. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, March 2022)

Nothing like a mountain Nebbiolo to get close to the weekend. True northern Italy. This is more than just tart, it has some soul: a little bit of roundness to the mouthfeel, medium- ish body; it’s delicious and completely worth finding. Nebbiolo, Croatina, & Barbera blend. Polaner importer.

Interesting Nebbiolo from the northernmost part of Piedmonte. Red fruit and purple flowers with ample tannins.

Medium-bodied Nebbiolo blend from La Valle d’Ossola in far northern Piedmont. Dried roses, ripe cherries, leather, dark & wet bark, pretty tannic. A bit of a bitter, inky undertone. Good bargain, though. From Flatiron Wines.
