Like a Syrah in sheep's clothing: black cherry, licorice, blistered dough and peppery acidity. Not much on the nose, but initially keeps the tongue tingling. Points lost for softening rather quickly, though there were nice raspberry notes on day two.

Very weak to no discernible nose. Fruit on the palate overpowered by big tannins and acidity. Not balanced. The finish is non existent. Cut up some fresh fruit and dump in some 7-up. The 2012 vintage needs a pizza. Make sure it's a good pizza!
