The 2021 Nero d'Avola punches well above its price point with a burst of lavender, violet and blackberry on the nose. This is soft textured yet juicy to the core, with depths of sweet cherry offset by vibrant acidity. The 2021 finishes classically dry with a subtle tug of dusty tannins. $15.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, January 2023)

According to a guy who doesn’t drink a lot of wine, he liked it. It was sweet with a bit of bite to it.

Balanced with notes of cherries and blackberries. Very enjoyable for a weeknight drink.

A medium+ ruby in appearance. On the nose, a medium intensity of baking spices like white pepper, and cloves, raspberry and cherry. A little musky. On the palate, there was an intense flavor of fruit punch flavor matching the nose. The body was medium+, the alcohol medium, acidity low. The wine was dry, but had residual sugars. Tannin was medium, with a very sticky structure. Length was medium. The wine was balanced, not very complex. Overall a very good wine.

Deep ruby red. Cherries, raspberries, and blackberries on the nose. Palate is similar, with the addition of some pepper notes. A bit on the sweet side for me.
