Pleasant, easy to drink Montepulciano d’Abruzzo with taste of caramel and smooth tannins. 2018 vintage drank in June 2022. Pares well with Italian food especially pasta

Bright and robust! The bottle was unusually small though, and the price was a little high.

Dark purple rich deep berry with subtle plum hints and aroma coalesces with full-flavor soft palate, dry but not too dry, palate...perfect tannins...an outstanding Montipulciano d'Abruzzo. Minimal acidity with smooth finish, this wine is unknown by many but a favorite of others who know it. Broadly distributed but mysterious to the uninitiated Italian wine neophyte, this "big" Italian wine for the genre' has balance and deep flavor of mostly more expensive Tuscan wines. Medium + +bodied, this vino would be great with red meats and red sauce pasta. Not far removed from Super Tuscan depth, not a Rosso d' Montepulciano but close, this wine was not "first time drank" nor rated, remains a "chosen one" for Tuscan value and true dark berry flavor. All from beautiful Abruzzo...will drink again.
